Franco Nero invitado especial del Festival de Sevilla en la gala de inauguración.
In the opening gala veteran Italian cinema, represented by Franco Nero, will be joined by its renaissance in the form of Gomorra, whose director, Matteo Garrone, will present the film at its Spanish premiere on the evening of November 7 in Seville’s Lope de Vega theater.
El actor italiano Franco Nero será el invitado especial de Sevilla Festival de Cine Europeo y asistirá a la Gala Inaugural que tendrá lugar el próximo 7 de noviembre, en el transcurso de la cual recibirá en Premio de honor “Ciudad de Sevilla”.
Nero acaba de estrenar película en Italia, Una Roccia spezzata (Carlo Fusco), Su actuación ha sido calificada por la crítica italiana como "una interpretación magistral de nuestro actor internacional". Una roccia spezzatta es la historia de la puesta en marcha de un curso de cinematografía para los pacientes del centro de salud mental de Fiumicino. Además, Nero ha finalizado, recientemente, el rodaje de varias películas entre las que se encuentran: Mord ist mein Geschäft, Liebling, Ti stramo y Four Seasons.
A sus 67 años Nero, que tiene una extensa filmografía con más de 150 papeles en el cine, ha sido la estrella en numerosos repartos internacionales, trabajando a las órdenes de John Huston, Damiano Damiani, Zefirelli, Guy Hamilton, Fassbinderr y Luis Buñuel, con quien rodó Tristana en España. El actor ha sido galardonado, entre otros, con el Premio David de Donatello y ha estado nominado a los Globos de Oro por Camelot.
El veterano actor italiano también participa en el destacado reparto de la superproducción Bathory, dirigida por el director de culto centroeuropeo, Juraj Jakubisko. Bathory se proyectará en la Sección Eurimages de SFCE, en la que se incluyen muestras de las películas coproducidas al menos por tres países europeos y con ayuda del fondo Eurimages. En este caso se trata de la película que ha recibido mayor apoyo económico de dicho fondo.
De esta forma, SFCE reúne a dos generaciones de éxito del cine italiano en la gala inaugural: el actor Franco Nero y el renacimiento de la citada cinematografía de la mano de Gomorra con su director Matteo Garrone, quien presentará la película en el estreno en España que tendrá lugar la noche del 7 de noviembre en el teatro Lope de Vega de Sevilla.

At 67, Nero has an extensive filmography, with over 150 roles in cinema. He has starred in numerous international casts, working for directors such as John Huston, Damiano Damiani, Zeffirelli, Guy Hamilton, Fassbinder and Luis Buñuel, with whom he filmed Tristana in Spain. The actor has received many awards, including the David de Donatello Award, and had a Golden Globe nomination for Camelot.
Nero has just opened a film in Italy, Un roccia spezzata (Carlo Fusco). His performance has been described by the Italian critics as “a masterly performance by our international actor”. “Una roccia spezzata” is the story of how a film making course is set up for the patients in the Fiumicino mental health center. Furthermore, he has just finished working on films like Mord ist mein Geschäft, Liebling, Ti stramo or Four Seasons.
The veteran Italian actor is also part of the distinguished cast of the super-production Bathory, directed by the Central European cult director, Juraj Jakubisko. “Bathory” will be shown in the SEFF Eurimages Section, which includes a selection of films co-produced by at least three European countries and with support from the Eurimages fund. Bathory is the film which has received most financial support from the fund.
